In this issue, a fight between Wildcat and Wildcat; a firehouse pancake breakfast; Power Girl's quest to unlock the secret's behind her cousin's death; Citizen Steel's new family and the fate of Starman! And that's just the beginning as we prepare the Justice Society for their newest and most surprising member to date... Power Girl dreams about the death of Kal-L. She is still saddened at his death during the Infinite Crisis. While visiting his grave (still in the dream), Kal-L tries to claw his way out. Power Girl wakes up and feels it wasn't just a dream but rather a premonition. She still misses him and hopes that someday, Superman will return.Later in Brooklyn, the Justice Society are at the Fire Department for a charity event. They are serving a pancake breakfast for everyone. Citizen Steel is stuck in the kitchen with his nephew and friends making the pancakes. He compares trying to cook with kids to fighting Nazis.Soon it is time for the main event. Wildcat vs Wildcat. Ted and his son, Tommy are set for a boxing match. Tommy isn't too keen on the idea of fighting but Ted reminds him it's for charity. Ted quickly begins knocking Tommy around, despite Tommy's quickness and agility. He mentions that his tail is telling him what move he is going to make next. At the end of the first round, Ted is clearly ahead.The fight has to be stopped when the fire alarm goes off. The JSA agree to go and help out. There is a five-alarm fire at an old paint factory. Some firefighters have gotten trapped inside. Power Girl tells Citizen Steel he has to wait outside because of his steel costume. It will get too hot for others to touch. Tommy can smell the fighters and they work their way inside.To their surprise, they find a dead body with a hole blasted through it. Damage and Liberty Belle recognize the body as that of a villain named Goth. They had an encounter with him a few years ago. He claimed to be a demon of sorts. Power Girl notices that the fire is coming from inside Goth's body.Alan Scott cannot use his ring to grab the body. Somehow the fire is having an affect on it. He does note that the power that Goth possessed is about to erupt. Power Girl tells him to step aside as she moves to pull his body out of there. Alan quickly warns her to stay back because her skin is starting to burn from the flames.Now Starman steps forward. He says he can make the body disappear. His Legion ring allows him to survive the coldness of space and the heat of the sun so he should be able to approach the body. He says that he can create a black hole to throw the body in. Power Girl asks if he's ever created one before. Starman says he hasn't but knows that he can. No one is sure whether or not the crazy Starman can actually do it. As chairwoman, the decision has to be Power Girl's. She tells him to go for it.Starman prepares himself and begins to create the black hole. As he is doing this, he tries quieting the voices in his head. The strain of creating the black hole seems to be too much for him. The fire goes out but Starman is left unconscious. Before the hole closes, a figure falls out. He seems to recognize Starman and carries him outside. The figure asks where is he, much to the shock of the Justice Society. The figure that emerged is appears to be an older version of Superman...
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1064/5512/files/dc-comics-comics-justice-society-of-america-9-vf-nm-1207935306.jpg?v=1763768992
pkt-justice-society-of-america-10
Justice Society of America #10 [VF/NM]

Grade: VF/NM

Note: STOCK IMAGE
Issue Number: 10
Release Date: 2007-12-01
Writer:
Artist:

Alex Ross joins Geoff Johns as co-writer for Part 1 of "Thy Kingdom Come," the epic story years in the making, springing from KINGDOM COME! The Justice Society reaches out to the next wave of legacy heroes: the new Mr. America, Judomaster, Amazing Man and more! Plus, another face familiar to the Kingdom Come Superman makes his presence known.Spoilers!!!Jakeem Thunder and Thunderbolt arrive at the new Justice Society headquarters in New York. Jakeem is a little put off that there's no one to greet them and there aren't any pictures of him around. Walking into the gym he lets out a "Who the $%#@ are you?!" when he sees Tommy, Damage (in his masked costume, Starman, and Citizen Steel in front of a boxing ring. Wildcat is in the ring with another new member, Judomaster. Everyone introduces themselves to him. Jakeem soon asks what's going on. Wildcat says Judomaster is in their custody until her court date. Damage was able to talk the authorities into that after she carelessly caused injuries the day before. He wants to check out her fighting skills and has her wearing boxing gloves. The boxing match begins and Wildcat goes flying on the mat.Jay Garrick, Alan Scott and Hawkman are looking over several photographs trying to figure out who else they're going to recruit. Mr. Terrific is meeting with one already with Stargirl and Cyclone.In New Orleans, the Superman from the future and Power Girl meet with the new Amazing-Man. Superman doesn't recognize him from his Earth. Power Girl fills him in on the history of those that bore the name before this one. He is willing to discuss getting involved with the JSA but would like them to help him first with some clean-up left over from Hurricane Katrina.Former FBI agent, Mr. America discovered that a couple of metahuman criminals that claimed to be Demigods were found dead with holes blown through their chests. He then finds several more "Demigods" dead, the New Olympians. Watching from behind stood a man in the shadows with horns on his head.In Chicago, Mr. Terrific meets with Black Lightning about his daughter, Thunder. Cyclone immediately attempts to strike up a friendship with her.Back at the scene where Mr. America was, Liberty Belle and Hourman talk with FBI agents there. They tell them that Mr. America beat them there by mintues. They hadn't heard from him since. Hourman points out to her that there's a word carved into a stone pillar, the word "Gog."In Northern Afghanistan, Jay, Alan and Hawkman meet with Corporal David Reid, also known as Lance about membership. He is able to release plasma energy and developed a pulsing tattoo on his arm. He wonders why they're interested in him. They tell him it's not because he's in the military but because of who his Great-grandfather was, Franklin D. Roosevelt. That was the man who first brought the Justice Society of America together. It's all about the legacy.Back at JSA headquarters, Wildcat is getting tired out not being able to lay a glove on Judomaster after eighteen rounds. The Justice Society has been tracking the "Heartbreak Slayer" — a mysterious serial killer targeting super-villains — for months. Now, as new members are welcomed into the fold and the Society expands, the JSA will come face-to-face with an evil that threatens the future they stand for.At the JSA's headquarters, Stargirl shows Jakeem around as he looks for a room of his own. Each room that he asks about is already being used by one of the newer members. He starts getting angry and asks why she didn't save him a room. She tells him that she didn't know there's be so many new members. He's had it. He kicks open a door saying that whoever is in there is "steppin' on ouuut." Speechless, he finds the room belongs to Thunder, the Black Lightning's youngest daughter. Her parents are there too helping her unpack. They are also packing up some things like the television. Jennifer begins to protest saying that her social life has been demolished since she can't check her e-mail or get phone calls. She wants the television in case Stargirl or Cyclone wanted to watch tv in her room. He mom convinces him to let the tv stay. He reminds her that Mr. Terrific has lots of delicate equipment and if she touches the television, everything within a hundred yards will short out. He tells her to keep her hands off. He also says the same to Jakeem, who looks like a deer caught in headlights.Dr. Mid-Nite checks out Mr. America after the beating he took. Mr. Terrific goes over the list of those that have been killed recently. They were all superhuman criminals that posed as Gods. As Mr. America made his escape, he heard the name "Gog" and asks if it means anything to them. Hourman mentions that he and Liberty Belle found it carved into a pillar. The Superman from the future comes in with Power Girl and tells them it means a lot. Mr. Terrific pulls up a hologram of Gog. Power Girl asks Kal if she recognizes him but he says no. He notes the armor is similar to someone from his time named "Magog." Dr. Mid-Nite tells them that Gog and Magog are mentioned in several different religions. Superman tells them that Magog claimed his powers were given to him by a being named Gog. He claimed to be the last god of the "Third World." Mr. Terrific tells him that the Gog on their world isn't a God at all. His real name is William Matthews and he was born in Chicago. He was a missionary that disappeared in Africa. He returned wearing the armor and attacked Superman just over a year ago. Not knowing why, Kal says he'll go ask Superman.Kal flies to Metropolis and hovers outside the Daily Planet. He reminisces as he watches an exchange between Perry and Jimmy. He starts flying closer until he sees Lois and stops in his tracks. At a nearby desk, Clark Kent is admiring his wife when he becomes aware of the other Superman. Kal thought he'd be able to handle seeing Lois again but is taken back. The last time he was at the Daily Planet, he was too late to save all his friends, including Lois.As he momentarily grieves, Superman flies over him and asks if he's spying on his wife. Kal tells Superman that he didn't mean any disrespect, he's just trying to adjust to everything. Superman asks if he can help with anything. Kal asks him about Gog. Superman says there isn't much to say. He claimed to be from the future and was the only survivor of a nuclear explosion in Kansas that he failed to prevent. It was Batman that discovered his real name was William Matthews. They figured that he really wasn't from the future, just sick in the head. Kal tells him that maybe he was able to see a glimpse into the future. Kal tells Superman that in his world, Kansas was destroyed. His wife, Lois, was killed by the Joker. He arrested the Joker and right before his trial, a man calling himself Magog killed him. People looked up to Magog after that.They are interrupted when Kal hears a voice say that they are a God. Superman doesn't seem to hear it but Kal flies off saying it's coming from Gotham. Hercules finds himself face to face with Gog. Hercules is blasted and sent flying outside. Both Supermen arrive to see him. When Hercules comes to, he slams his elbow in Superman's face, which gives him a bloody nose. He then punches him and sends Superman flying. Kal stands his ground as Hercules prepares to punch him too. The punch doesn't faze or even move Kal in the slightest bit. Hercules tries again but Kal simply grabs his fist with one hand, removes his golden tunic and sends him flying with a punch. Superman moves in to catch him and drives him into a nearby statue. They see that Gog is still inside and move in a streak to get him. As they enter, Gog teleports away. Kal looks at the spot where Gog was and notices traces of volcanic ash. He figures the Justice Society will be able to track where it originated from.In the Congo, Gog walks down some old stairs carved into a mountain saying he will get rid of all the Gods that walk the world since they will not save it. He will make the way clear for the only savior that can. He kneels before an enormous head that is either carved or trapped in the side of a mountain.
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1064/5512/files/dc-comics-comics-justice-society-of-america-13-vf-nm-1207935302.jpg?v=1763768989
yz8-justice-society-of-america-14
Justice Society of America #14 [VF/NM]

Grade: VF/NM

Note: STOCK IMAGE
Issue Number: 14
Release Date: 2008-05-01
Writer:
Artist:

Overview"Thy Kingdom Come" continues as the mystery of the "Heartbreak Slayer" explodes while the Justice Society discovers a true "New" God stalking them.
