Sensory Friendly Free Comic Book Evening

Posted by Jamie Colegrove on

Sometimes, the crowds can be too much for our more sensitive friends so join us for our second annual Quiet Free Comic Book Evening on May 5. Starting at 6pm on Free Comic Book Day, we will have our facilities open to those individuals who may struggle with the noise and larger crowds that gather during FCBD. We will have a full supply of comics and several creators on hand to help make it an extra special event for you!

To make sure we have the comics our sensory friendly guests need, please see the attached list and select the 3 titles desired and we will set them aside for you. This doesn't mean you won't be able to get other titles, we just want to make sure we have all the comics needed fill any unexpected demand. We will do our best to maintain a full stock of titles, but this just helps make sure you get what you desire most. Turn the attached form or list of titles back to us via email ( or in-store prior to January 25. THERE IS NO FEE AND THE BOOKS ARE FREE.

Sensory Friendly FCBD Details:

To prevent too many people in one room, we will limit the number of creators in each part of the store.

Lights will be out in the comic shop and in each of the rooms with FCBD books.

We will keep noise to a minimum by turning off the radio and request guests keep noise to a minimum.

There will be signs around the store detailing our efforts for the afternoon crowd to make them aware of our objective.

If there is anything else you can think of to improve this effort, please contact me and we will make as many accommodations as possible.

Thank you all for your understanding as we work to create this special event for those needing a sensory friendly option.
