Vindicator finds that she cannot remove her battlesuit at all. She rushes to find Manikin, who is a doctor, with her fiance, Madison Jeffries, giving her chase. A voice in Manikin's mind, however, tells him that if he saves Vindicator, he will die. Unsure of what to do, Manikin's form of Proto is able to dissolve Vindicator's power suit and frees her from her rage. Manikin is left wondering who was the voice in his mind and believes it may have been the Dreamqueen, but he soon forgets.
